President-elect 2023 (1 Opening)

June 2023 – 2024  President-elect:

  • Three-year commitment, beginning at the conclusion of June Council meeting.
  • Member of APS Executive Council.
  • Presides at Council meetings when the President is unable to attend.

June 2024 – 2025  President:

  • Responsible for general/active management of APS affairs, including strategic planning and implementation.
  • Presides at Presidential Plenary and Howland Dinner at the annual PAS Meeting.
  • Serves a one (1) year term—beginning at the conclusion of June Council meeting.
  • Serves on the Finance Committee during tenure as President and Past President.

June 2025 – 2026  Past President:

  • Serves a one (1) year term—beginning at the conclusion of June Council meeting.
  • Serves on the Finance Committee during tenure as President and Past President.
  • Member of APS Executive Council.

Secretary/Treasurer-elect 2023 (1 Opening)

June 2023 – 2024 Secretary/Treasurer-elect:

  • Shadows Secretary/Treasurer for one (1) year, then serves a five (5) year term- beginning at the conclusion of the June Council Meeting.
  • Note:  Secretary/Treasurer-elect is NOT an Officer/Council Member during his/her “shadow” year.

June 2024 – 2029 Secretary/Treasurer: 

  • Five-year commitment, beginning at the conclusion of June Council meeting.
  • Member of the APS Executive Council.
  • Responsible for APS correspondence and recording meeting proceedings.
  • Fiduciary responsibility for all Society funds and securities held.
  • With President/Executive Council, responsible for Strategic Planning and implementation and for managing general APS affairs.
  • Serves a five (5) year term as Chair on the Finance Committee during tenure as Secretary-Treasurer.

Council Member 2023 – 2028 (1 Opening)

  • Council Member (a five-year term), beginning at the conclusion of June Council meeting.
  • Responsibilities include attendance at Spring and Fall Council meetings and participation in monthly Council calls; active engagement in APS activities, including representation in various organizations, serving on APS committees and task forces.
